Personal update - I had major surgery on August 1st and healing has gone okay-ish, although I was back in hospital last week briefly as my top stitch popped open and there was a ~sickening~ hole in my leg. Obviously I took a photo. Resting and healing prioritized but still happily shipping orders from home at the moment

Long time no post! Here are some photos from the last Goth Night at @yours_otepoti with @ann.arkii @deformed_sam and @dirtyratdesigns as well as a little painting that's still in my Etsy store looking for a home 🙏

Last 3 photos are a brief overview of the last 3 weeks / what I've been up to since my tib/fib fusion. If you have a weak stomach maybe stop at the leg brace photo (others aren't super gory, just x-ray + healing stitches). 3 weeks on I am showering myself and walking short distances without crutches which is nice, but everything still sort of sucks and I cried at the hospital this week because I was exhausted lmao 🤙

Hoping to get back into my office in the next week or two and start making things again ❤️

Personal update - what a week of finding out truly how resilient the human body is. On Aug 1st my long awaited knee operation went smoothly, August 2nd I was on the brink of passing out trying to stand, one week later I'm down to one crutch and can get myself up & down stairs okay-ish. Still have 6-8 weeks of recovery until I can drive and (fingers crossed) be pain free but for now I'm amazed at the progress. The incision is 28cm long if anyone else was wondering and is going to be a sick scar 😅

Did you know, you don't actually have to choose a sculpture to adopt, it can be a surprise? I've had mystery boxes in my Etsy store for about 6 months but totally forgot to post about them on IG, whoops. Anyway here are some examples of previous boxes I've put together, from vintage clown dolls to stickers, mini thrifted frames and handmade horror pieces, ceramic dishes, dolls, decor, and even small sewing projects of mine. Lil throwback to my 2022-2023 hyperfixation - collecting, converting & formatting vintage (pre 1900) illustrations into printable colouring pages. In case anyone had looked at my Etsy store and wondered what the digital collections/colouring page categories are about, I made a bunch of digital-download sets as a way to help archive old prints/make new colouring pages/have something to offer international customers that doesn't cost $40 to ship out of New Zealand (international courier prices are absolutely killer). I don't sell very many of them but am still proud of the hundreds of hours that went into making these collections, that then inspired me to illustrate my own colouring book - this project was the precursor and made me fall in love with colouring & illustrating again. I am still working on collecting vintage illustrations for a few new sets in the future. Something something jack of all trades but somehow every exploration into art informs the rest of what I make and enjoy so why not do sculpture and digital and traditional painting and sewing and knitting etc ❤️
